A massive overnight russian attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region caused widespread destruction across multiple districts of the capital, damaging residential buildings, civilian infrastructure, vehicles, and commercial properties. Rescue operations remain ongoing as emergency services continue searching for victims trapped under rubble.
According to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, the attack affected several districts of Kyiv, including Darniytskyi, Obolonskyi, Holosiivskyi, Solomianskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts.
Darniytskyi District Hit Hardest
One of the most severe strikes hit a multi-story residential building in the Darniytskyi district, where structural sections partially collapsed after the attack. Emergency responders managed to rescue 28 people from the damaged building.
Search-and-rescue operations are still underway as crews continue clearing debris and searching for additional victims trapped beneath the ruins.
Nearby, debris also fell onto the territory of a gas station, while several vehicles caught fire in residential courtyards.
Casualties and Injuries
As of the latest official update, at least three people have been confirmed dead following the attack on Kyiv. Authorities also reported at least 31 injured victims, including one child.
Emergency officials warned that casualty numbers may continue to rise as rescue teams complete operations at impacted sites.
Damage Across Kyiv
Obolonskyi District
Falling debris damaged a parking structure and business center. Another strike damaged an apartment on the 12th floor of a residential building and hit a 25-story unfinished high-rise. Several people were reported injured.
Dniprovskyi District
A fire broke out on the roof of a five-story residential building. Separate drone impacts damaged another apartment building, a private home, garages, and parked vehicles.
Solomianskyi District
A parked vehicle caught fire following debris impact.
Holosiivskyi District
Debris was discovered on roadways after the attack.
Sviatoshynskyi District
Emergency services reported debris falling in open areas.
Emergency Services Continue Response
Rescue workers, firefighters, psychologists, and emergency crews remain deployed across affected locations. Authorities continue assessing damage and updating casualty information.
Residents are urged not to ignore air raid alerts and to immediately seek shelter during missile and drone attacks.
Kyiv Region Also Affected
The wider Kyiv region also suffered significant damage during the overnight assault. Authorities confirmed that seven people were injured across the region, including one child.
Damage and fires were reported in:
- Obukhiv district
- Brovary district
- Fastiv district
- Boryspil district
- Bila Tserkva district
In the Boryspil district, rescuers evacuated 30 residents from a multi-story residential building.
Private homes, apartments, outbuildings, and vehicles were damaged in multiple communities, while firefighters worked through the night to extinguish fires in residential areas.
Update: Death Toll in Kyiv’s Darniytskyi District Rises to Four
The number of people killed in the Russian attack on Kyiv’s Darniytskyi district has increased to four, according to Kyiv police.
Emergency responders recovered the bodies of two men, aged 21 and 30, from beneath the rubble of the destroyed entrance section of a residential high-rise building. The body of a woman was also recovered, and authorities are currently working to identify her.
Another victim died in hospital after being hospitalized from a gas station that was struck during the Russian attack.
Search-and-rescue operations continue at the site as emergency crews work through the debris and assess the full extent of the destruction.
