Timeline of the Attack
On the night of August 28, 2025, Kyiv endured one of the most massive attacks in recent months. Russian missiles and drones targeted residential neighborhoods and infrastructure across multiple districts of the capital.
According to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the most severe destruction was recorded on the Left Bank — in Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Solomianskyi districts.
Civilian Casualties
The Kyiv City Military Administration provided updated figures on the human toll:
3 people were killed, including a 14-year-old teenager.
The number of wounded varies in official reports:
12 injured, among them a 10-year-old and a 17-year-old teenager.
Other reports mention 9 injured, including one child.
In some updates, 18 people were wounded, 17 of them hospitalized, including children aged 7, 10, and 11.
Damage and Fires
In Darnytskyi district, a five-story residential building was heavily damaged, with destruction recorded from the first to the fifth floors.
Several high-rise buildings up to 16 floors were also damaged.
Fires broke out in both residential and office buildings.
In Dniprovskyi district, at least seven cars burned in two separate locations.
Emergency Response
The air raid alert lasted from late evening until early morning, while Ukrainian air defense worked throughout the night. Firefighters and rescue teams arrived quickly, extinguishing blazes and evacuating residents. The mayor confirmed that the number of casualties and destruction was still being updated throughout the day.
